Massive RFH this week, kids.  Nearly a full hour of comedy, music, pop culture references and space madness.  AFFIRMATOR even gets in a tongue twister at the end, the big lug.

Awesome guest this week in Mike Ochs.  Just a truly phenomenal human being.

We toyed with the idea of calling this "Affirmacast 56:  The Hungarian Revolution" but we realized that some people probably died during that and I really like my old Hungarian directing teacher from film school, Janos Kovaci. 

Plus, he used to be in Delta Force.  I am not kidding.

No guest this week (although Hawkins got in there some) but we have an old friend coming by next week.  Should be great times.

This week Affirmatron passes into the 2nd half of the 1st half of the century mark.  Take a sec.  We'll wait for you.

Kind of a weird night.  Not bad.  Just a weird vibe that everyone was on.at the same time.  It was kind of cool.

Let me explain something about the title:  So, 55 is sometimes referred to as a Double Nickel.  Double Nickels on the Dime is the name of the greatest record by the band The Minutemen.  It may be, arguably, one of the best records, if not the best, from that era.  D. Boon, lead singer/guitar player/visionary was taken from us too soon when, in 1985, he was thrown from the van he was riding and died instantly.  He was 27.

FUN FACT:  In Britain, governor Publius Ostorius Scapula defeated Caratacus and the Silures in the territory of the Ordovices in central Wales. Caratacus sought sanctuary with Cartimandua, queen of the Brigantes in northern England, but she was a Roman ally and handed him over to Ostorius. Despite the defeat, the Silures continued to fight.

The captured Caratacus was exhibited in chains in Claudius' triumph in Rome, but his dignified demeanor persuaded the emperor to spare his life and allowed his family to live free in Rome.
